Postural Correction
Chartered Physiotherapy in Blackpool, St. Annes, Lytham, Poulton, Cleveleys and FleetwoodWhat is good posture?
Postural correction is the training of your body to walk, stand, sit and lie down in positions which place the least pressure on supporting muscles and ligaments. This is both during movements or simply while weight-bearing. Body alignment is about holding all of your bones upright against the force of gravity while you are standing, sitting or lying down, maintaining the right positioning of all bones and muscle structures.
What is postural correction?
There’s a host of different self care techniques you can use to ensure you are sitting and standing straight, particularly when in the same posture for long periods of time (such as typing at work). As skilled physiotherapists, we’re trained to closely assess your posture and movements, looking for things like slight over-rotation that could, in time, lead to something painful and potentially long term. If you play sports (even recreationally) or do a job which involves repetitive motions or a lot of sitting, seeing one of our expert team for some advice can make all the difference.
