Chartered Physiotherapy in Blackpool, St. Annes, Lytham, Poulton, Cleveleys and FleetwoodWhat is whiplash?
Whiplash is where the head has been violently thrown back and forth, usually in a road traffic accident. Sufferers usually experience a combination of neck pain, stiffness and headaches that can vary in severity and duration. Most people recover quickly within a few months providing they get the right advice and treatment early on, avoiding the risk of ongoing chronic neck pain that can sometimes take hold if not properly managed.
How do you treat whiplash?
If your symptoms persist beyond a few weeks, or you’re concerned about being able to perform certain neck movements for work or sport, you could choose physiotherapy. We’ll start by taking a full assessment of your condition and its history so we can pinpoint a cause and recommend treatment. A range of different techniques might be involved to improve your symptoms and speed up recovery, including: neck exercises, massage and gentle neck manipulations to restore your range of movement.
